A thick, flavorful no-cook pizza sauce you stir together from tomato paste, tomato sauce, olive oil, and pantry spices. Ready in about five minutes, and just spread it on your dough before the cheese and toppings.
Add the tomato paste and tomato sauce to a medium bowl.
Stir in the olive oil, sugar, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, if using.
Mix until smooth and well combined.
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add a little more sugar if the sauce tastes too sharp, more salt if it tastes flat, or more Italian seasoning if you want a stronger pizza-shop flavor.
Spread a thin layer over pizza dough before adding cheese and toppings.
Notes
This sauce is intentionally thick so it does not make the pizza soggy. Use about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of sauce for a 12-inch pizza, depending on how saucy you like it. For the best flavor, let the sauce sit for 15 to 30 minutes before using so the herbs can soften and the flavors can blend. Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
